Practicing and keeping a daily oral hygiene and maintaining
a proper healthy diet are the main keys in keeping not only whiter teeth but an
overall healthy mouth and body. Here are a few things you can do to maintain a bright healthy smile:
- Avoiding food/drinks
that can heavily stain teeth like berries, curries and sauces. Drinks like
coffee, colas, wine, balsamic vinegar etc. Try using a straw to minimize
contact to teeth and flush with water to prevent from staining.
- By practicing good
oral hygiene which includes brushing after each meal and using gentle strokes
and soft bristles with circular motion including the tongue and gums as well.
- Using whitening
toothpaste that contain silica which fights discoloration and floss that is
coated with a whitening baking soda
formula that softly dissolves the stain attracting proteins that cling to teeth
or dental picks that have micro scrubbing materials and that easily reach back
teeth.
- Gargling with
mouthwash that contains hydrogen peroxide that not only whiten teeth but kills
bad breath- causing germs and strengthens enamel.
- Whitening
strips are thin strips that conform to the shape of your teeth. They are coated
with a tooth whitening gel containing peroxide.
Can be used on your teeth for one hour once a day to help remove stain
build-up on and below the tooth’s surface.
